Mountain Lions

Over the span of just a few weeks the Oakland Zoo was able to rescue a very young male, then another young male. Not long after there was a tiny female barely able to survive. Around the clock nursing was successful and now she is healthy and ready to play! It is assumed that all of the mothers met untimely deaths in and around Southern California. Mountain Lions are on exhibit at the Oakland Zoo on the California Trail.

I need a hammock! I could learn from this guy. Talk about "chill".
Playing with a ball all day, popping it and crushing it, is all very tiring.
This photo was taken shortly after the oldest of the three young mountain lions showed up at the Oakland Zoo and went into quarantine. It was used quite widely since I was the only photographer allowed in to the quarantine area. He has grown considerably since then.
